Hi everyone, im fairly new here. recently i have been paid off and myself, my partner and our two year old are living off of my partners fairly poop royal marine wage.
Anyway, my contract phone is with orange, its a 24month contract and is due to end in November this year...is there anyway i can end it sooner? I simply need to cut down on what we are spending...thanks in advance

Speak to them, they might be able to reduce the tariff for you. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Welcome to the forum.
If you read back over the last 3 or 4 pages, you will see a number of threads from people wanting to close contracts early. Please look at the replies all of which basically say "You signed a contract - you are there for the duration, but speak to the network and see if they are prepared to do anything out of goodwill"
Best to read the forum first as repetitive threads - and yours, regrettably is one of these, tend to be a bit irritating when members aren't prepared to put in a bit of effort and search first.0 -

thank you...and sorry0 -
That's a bit harsh Guys. It's true it's been covered a few time recently but we're all new at some point
.
Basically you are liable for it and can't end it. You can try approaching the provider and ask them to lower you to the lowest tarriff or you can pay off the contract but there's no way of simply canceling it.LBM 2 - 27.05.09. Maybe it's time for a "Sticky" on this subject, and drop the Mercury Telecoms one that's 5 years old :-oWhy pay more than you have to?0

If you call them, don't accept the answer from the first agent you picks up your call.
You need to speak with someone in the Executives Office, who will look on your situation more favourably if there are mitigating circumstances, and could agree to end the contract.
Orange do a £5 a month contract, and unless you are giving up the mobile completly, then this may be an option - albeit Orange may want to you commit to a longer contract, but overall it may be less than you will pay to finish the current one off0 -

Didn't mean it to come over like that. Sorry.
Just that if someone wants a quick answer to something that has been raised, it's best to search the forum first as there are lots of good threads already there and the best informed posters do get tired of repeating themselves and may not comment.
But as Squirrelz suggested, maybe it should be a sticky.0 -

And who made you the mod of this board? I suggest if you find repetitive threads irritating then don't read or reply to them0
