Frustrated with 3 mobile
I recently transferred my number from 3 to another network. Last week I received a final bill dated 28th Feb, which showed that my account was in credit and I should call them to arrange refund. Great I thought !!
Next day I got a letter dated (1st Mar) that I had not paid some £10 due on my account and hence they are going to appoint a debt-collector on my account unless I pay them within 7 days. I only had one account with 3 and both the bill and letter refer to the same account number and same phone number.
Totally confused at what was happening, I called up their so called 'customer service' and asked them to clarify what was happening. The guy I spoke to had no idea of the letter I received and said my account was definitely in credit. Just to be safe I recorded that phone conversation (didn't tell the guy I was recording it though - should I have?) to be used at a later date if needed. I also have the bill dated 28th Feb showing my account is in credit.
Will it show as default if they appoint a debt collector on my account? I'm worried that 3 will ***** my credit record, for no fault of mine. What is my best course of action if that appoint a debt collection? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
