i never got a certificate of registration from her0

My landlord (well we thought he was) hasn't protected our deposit, someone told us that you can claim 3 times the amount of the deposit back. Not sure how accurate this is or how you do it.0

yeah well some landlords are rubbish like that, as i said phone up the schemes and they'll be able to tell you if it's registered.
If it's not, then there's plenty of advice on this forum about how to deal with that in other threads.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
Sounds like she is breaking the law on the deposit. Yes you can claim 3 times the deposit!
see the Gov site on deposits: What the law says, which schemes are authorised etc.
So if she turns awkward about the notice period and/or returning the deposit, just point out she's broken the law by not registering your deposit (but double check with each scheme first!)0 -
well i had an email from her earlier, basically saying that by law as a tenent i am required to give 2 months notice! As i dated my notice 2nd march it would carry me up to the 2nd may. Oh and she also add that she is selling the house0

As already suggested, point her in the direction of Shelter, she obviously knows nothing.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0

Just e-mail her this link or the one to the shelter website:

And definitely do check with all three deposit schemes ASAP.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
