Just had a letter from cap one re ppi saying we ticked form for ppi and being self employed we were covered so they said we cant get a refund, never received any policy documents do we still carry on can anyone advise thanks

Hi there
I would check out the checklist for other reasons for being mis sold just in case anything is missed.
If you did not request for their PPI and they just added it then you can reclaim on those grounds, there are many reasons that may apply, so check this info out here:

If this is the case and you have found more reasons that apply to you, if that was not the final decision then write back to them until they issue you with the final response, where they should also enclose details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can then move on to these for them to investigate.
Also if you had protection elsewhere, they may not have gone through the procedures of selling this product and just added it automatically and so on.
You can still continue with this just as long as you have the account details and you have your reasons, also ask them to pop a copy of the policy in the post for you.
