Let's hope we can avoid gold medals at the next Olympics and please, no more British F1 winners. Let the Germans have it.
Britain needs more losers.

Second, having someone TELL you what to do IS making you a less competitive person as you aren't actually learning how to get better at the game, just doing as you're told, no thinking or improvement going on.0 -

Firstly, IT'S A GAME. I wasn't aware playing monopoly on a train was a matter of national pride around the world.

OK lets keep this fun
It was a train - but before I interrupted we had a conversation - it was all very good natured and full of laughter. Though you're right I did feel a bit guilty about 'lost monopoly innocence.'Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I enjoy playing 'Billionaire', it is a variation on Monopoly but includes share dealing on the properties round the board as well which gives added interest to the game.0

OMG there is ALWAYS some person who has to argue on any thread.
Martin - does it not dishearten you that someone always takes a knock at you - even on a light hearted thread such as this one?OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

I know this was just a fun blog entry but if that had been me playing I'd have told him where to stick his advice, its a game who cares if they're playing it how YOU think best as long as they are enjoying it. The last thing I'd want is someone poking their nose in and telling a player if they do such and such they'll win - yeah thanks for killing the game we were happily enjoying without you until that point.
This was your post I was refering to - clearly you are having a go at Martin and I wasn't suggesting he would get upset over the game of Monopoly, just the fact that even on a light hearted post like this, someone has to post something negativeOD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Ok lets end all that and get back to what counts.

Hold off or wait for the dark blues

1) There's nothing more disheartening than being low on cash and neeeearly getting to "Go" again....then landing on Mayfair with a hotel on it.
2) Advance to Mayfair card.
3) You can knock someone out the game in one hit rather than trying to take them down in a series of smaller hits, between which they have time to build up again. Or at least do serious damage.
I usually aim to get the orange/red corner, as I prefer a large block rather than, say, orange and yellow, where yellow gives a better return on houses than reds.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0
