Any ideas how long it sometimes takes? And if you don't get it, any ideas who to speak to?

If you are talking about A&L, it takes up to 15 weeks from account opening/first deposit - you must have fulfilled any requirements, such as transferring Direct Debits via their switching service and deposited any required minimum monthly funding.
