They WILL most definitely check your credit file. There is no question about it.

Good idea might be to get your credit report first... That will tell you how many cards you have.

I'm confused. How can you NOT know how many credit cards are in your wallet??????

You don't have to tell them about any cancelled cards.

There's something odd about your recent posts.. suspiciously odd.

They will know exactly how many you have when they credit check you and any mismatch will be flagged.

Do you think these credit card applications check and store IP addresses to prevent multiple fake applications?

Of course they will. They'll also record your IP address to detect and prevent fraudulent applications being made, including those that have been made with someone elses identity. If a bank detects fraud has occured, then they could give the IP address from the application to the police for investigation.

So any master plan you've got in mind, I'd think twice. :D

You don't need to get the exact number right on the application.

It's not part of their ID or anti-fraud procedures.

It's only used to try and assess you as part of their overall credit score IME.

Don't think I've ever given them the actual number. Like you say, if they want to know or were concerned about it, they can see the number of active Credit Card accounts I have from my credit report.

Danny, you're still a paranoid puppy on these application questions :)

Anyway, the fact is that you have so many credit cards that you have lost track, applying for more is not a good idea.

Let me explain the oddness of my posts, i just fear being rejected for some cards /funds which i need for some serious health problems. I just want to reduce the chances of failing- hence asking the detailed problems. Im sure you have gone through some serious health problems (you or your family) in the past

What could be so serious that you cant look in your wallet and count the number of cards that are in there, despite your health issues? You are able to post on this forum, so surely counting to five or maybe a maximum of ten isn't beyond your capabilities?

Sorry Danny, it doesn't make sense.
By knowing the questions (which are pretty much all the same) you cannot avoid being rejected by just some cards.
If your scoring is not up to it, it's not up to it. They will all do credit search on you and you have to have a job/income (for main stream cards anyhow).
