You would need to claim ESA, just ring the contact centre and tell them you would like to make a claim for ESA as you have an ongoing IB appeal and they will tell you if you are eligible. I would stress that if you fail to attend medicals for ESA the same will happen, they are compulsory unless otherwise stated. I suggest that if you put in a claim for ESA, as soon as you get your ESA50 (Limited Capability for Work Questionairre - its a pink booklet) fill it in and attach to it a letter from your Doctor or Psychiatrist which clearly states you are unable to attend a medical and would require a home visit. A Dr will then come and examine you at home. :)

Id like to thank you all very much for your advice.
My appeal is ongoing but i have now been told that i cannot have any more crisis loans as i have reached my limit.
Prob due to the 7 months of crisis loans i had last year while waiting outcome of appeal that i eventually won.
Im worried sick because if my last appeal was anything to go by then ive still got approx 5 months left before a decision is made. A possible five months without any money !?
Claim ESA like I said. You can be entitled to both IB and ESA at the same time.
