Can I port my number to a PAYG then back again

My 3 contract is just ending and I have now got my PAC number with the intention of porting it to either an O2 free sim or the free T-Mobile sim. I know there is no problem porting my number to them but what I want to know is will I have any problem in a month or so when I want to port it back to another contract, possibly with 3 again. The only reason I'm doing this is there are better deals available if you take out a new contract and I dont want to lose my current number. Any advice please??

Should be ok to port it back to 3 or you could take a new number on 3 and leave an answerphone message on your older number to the effect that your number has now changed.
  • Thanks for the advice. I suppose I really needed to know if its possible to get a PAC number from a PAYG phone account.

Has anybody done this and if so which provider was it with?
