Tiscali Customers beware of TalkTalk!

I am a Tiscali Broadband and Telephone user and am more than satisfied with their package and service. Although I realise others are not, the purpose of starting this thread is not for that aspect.

Tiscali has recently been taken over by TalkTalk, who have now written advising they wish to 'align' my package and offer savings in the process.

This was not unexpected. However the TalkTalk letter fails to provide details/breakdown (e.g. free anytime International calls) of the new package offered, and the 'savings' are represented by an increased price without mention of whether vat is included.

Additionally there is an 'offer' but you have to sign up for 18 months, which I feel is a long time.

I have written to TalkTalk stating my package is not to be changed and would suggest other Tiscali customers consider carefully their position.

Its Hobsons choice, accept the new terms or leave.

If you are out of your minimum term contract, they can make whatever changes they like to your T&C's. You cannot 'state that your package is not to be changed'. As penrhyn says, you are free to leave-which is of course what you should do.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I have been with freeserve, which was bought by tiscali. no problems since 256kb dialup. Changed to new talk talk package 2 months ago. Returned from holiday to find a letter confirming that I have been disconnected!

Called to ask why, and they offered to reconnect, and I only had to pay £40 reconnection fee. I could apply for a refund at a later date.

    Get Lost, beware Tiscali customers.
