Its much scarier being observed by someone you know.Be calm and chill, great that people in your school are being so supportive of you. Its probably some donkey in SMT who thinks if they assess you hard, you will be even better when ofsted come in. This happened to me once, a deputy head who couldn't teach was hyper critical of me. He got deposed when every other dept but mine failed ofsted. Now he's teaching (badly) in a sixth form college, couldn't hack it. I bet you're ace.
thrifty, Can I just say I wholeheartedly agree with grateful. They changed the system a few years ago and 2 is the new 1! Daft as it seems. Also some staff just feel they haven't assessed properly unless they can find fault.
Think of the way some teachers mark kids work. (Sorry about punctuation etc. brain has gone into meltdown)
At my last OFSTED I complained that the inspector disrupted my lesson and then gave me a three!! He changed it to a 2, apologised and said he would learn from it... then told me his wife was gravely ill.. You just never know what is going on in their heads, lives etc. Don't let the b******s get you down.!!

Hi all
Hope everyone is well? I'm sending loads of hugs in lieu of actually reading through the thread - I've had a really busy day and have had more to do with a toxic person than I would wish. Anyway, I'm here, OH is out working at a client's offices and the two littleys are just about to start their relevant bedtime routines...
I've had a good flying day too...almost managed to complete today's list, but I'll have to wait until OH is around to look after DS when I'm vacuuming the carpets.
Anyway, here's my list...if it ain't there it's been done....

So, not too bad. Spoke to mum who is still waiting for her pre-op appointment. She's chasing her Macmillan nurse, so hopefully we'll here something in the next couple of days. I suppose it makes you think about things...my mum and step-dad have made an appointment to draw up a will... Bit scared when I heard that, but in all reality it's quite a practical step...but when she started talking about planning her funeral I had to ask her if she was telling me the whole truth about her cancer....she said she was just trying to get things in order 'just in case'.
Anyway, I'm OK. I'm of a practical mind so can understand why she's thinking about these things...doesn't want to leave it to us - wants it her own way. Hope no-one thinks this is in bad taste, but I told her she couldn't die because I wouldn't let her rest - I'd carry her ashes everywhere with me....her answer....'I always wanted to travel'. Can't win.
Right, bedtime routines....
Take care all - have a good evening.

evening all.
Not much done today yet. I stayed after school to do fire training and to dig over the veg beds.
Made Thai Green Curry for dinner and unloaded the WM. Another paddle has broken off inside the WM so I am going to have to fork out for a new one. There used to be a cracking vac and washer shop nearby. Last time one broke off, the guy from the shop delivered one to my door on his way home from work. The shop has gone now sadly so it looks like I'll have to troll the internet for one. The washer cost a lot more than my old one, but it has been total carp.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
Well I have not posted this week (only twice last week I think) but still following the lists. Just wanted to report that all this flying has paid off!!! Had my inspection with the Letting Agent today and in every room he went into he said "Oh its lovely and tidy in here!" So a big THANK YOU!! to this thread to get my backside into gear and getting me to clean and declutter.
Back to lurking....
Oh and Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating one and hugs to anyone that needs them!0 -

Well a successful meeting but one which has left me feeling a tad down.
The old boy I went to pick up (Rach - you know him - initials HC) is a shadow of his former self. He used to be into everything and anything. His wife passed away probably about 4-5 years ago now. He has a son who lives close but doesn't seem to do much. He's had a couple of strokes in the last couple of years and has spent some time in hospital. But he's now in sheltered accomm.
I went and picked him up and we decided the wheelchair was the best option rather than the zimmer frame. Took him 5 minutes to get from the car (on my drive!) to the kitchen where the meeting was being held and no, I don't live in a mansion! (with hindsight, I should have popped him back in the wheelchair).
Mentally, he's bright as a button and only a little bit slower thought wise than he used to be. He also seemed extraordinarily grateful that I picked him up and dropped him back and even thought of inviting him to the meeting. I think he's lonely - having been so active in the community and now not being able to get out in it as he used to must be really awful for him.
Gawd - I'm maudlin. Better go find some food quick....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
