Mine love animals, so we went to the Wildlife gardens a few miles inland from Hemsby - not for the gardens I might add, but for the wildlife - Tigers, leopards/cheetahs, red panda, owls, otters, pocupine etc. We timed it for the feeding time at 3pm, where we got to follow the keeper around as she went in turn from enclosure to enclosure, so you didn't miss anything.
Quite a small set up, not a BIG ZOO, but then not packed either, at least when we went, which was admittedly before all the local schools had broken up. Had a great time pottering round. Not free, but not too expensive.
Thats Thrigby Hall. Its a favourite with our kids. Crocodiles,Tigers etc!

Theres the model village on the Yarmouth seafront which I really love. It's a miniature town with little people, houses, trains, hospitals and everything. Don't waste your money on going in Harry Ramsdens. The fish and chips on the pier are lovely and not full of colourings like they are there and not overpriced because of the name. Theres also the Marina Centre which is a big swimming pool/leisure centre on Yarmouth seafront.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

funny i have noticed that at other towns, where there is a HR, that the little local is a lot nicer...... I even had some of Rick Steins last year at Padstow...... over priced and over rated.........smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
