I am with an ISP called NewNet. It is a 24mb ADSL connection and is £19.89 per month. This if for unlimited usage. They do other ADSL packages too at different prices and usage levels.
Their customer service is excellent and is a normal land line number. You can always get through straight away and it is UK based.
A friend of mine works in their support team and the employees there love working for the company and it shows when you ring them. That said, I have only had to ring them once in the 6 years I have used them.
They may not be the cheapest and offer 3 months initially for buttons like a lot of the bigger proviers. But their connection is fast and reliable and service line is excellent.
Check them out.

In your plug for them why dont you mention the important fact that the service you refer to is only available in
the following exchanges: Fareham, Gosport, Titchfield, Cosham, Waterlooville, Portsmouth North, Portsmouth Central, Havant, Guildford, Basingstoke, Reading, and Bracknell.
Martin MSE recommends their slower service here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband0 -
That is for the 24MB LLU service. The ordinary 8mb service which is also good is available anywhere.0

So why not provide a link to that?
Newnet have recently been taken over, so their past performance may not be representative of the new owners.0 -

But you were promoting the 24mb service. You said
"I am with an ISP called NewNet. It is a 24mb ADSL connection and is £19.89 per month."
and gave a link to the llu service.0 -
Almost £20 a month seems quite expensive in the current 'broadband offers' climate.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

this is enabled on my exchange, but i can get the up to 20meg, unlimited service from sky at 10.00 per month ?
why pay twice what you need to ?

Almost £20 a month seems quite expensive in the current 'broadband offers' climate.
But the major ISP's don't provide any customer service, that's why you pay more for ISP's like Newnet, because you can get straight through to the UK-based helpdesk. Besides, it's only a fiver a week, and if you have two or more people in the house using the Internet, then that's excellent value for money.
How many people shop around to save a fiver a month on their broadband, then wish they paid that extra fiver a month when they've been on hold for 45 minutes to a call centre in Bangalore?0 -
If people are seeking an upto 24Mbps ADSL2+ service then CURRENTLY they'd be hard pressed to beat o2 Premium which is from net £1.67/month over the one year commitment (assuming you have an o2 Mobile, or would use the £94+ of credit you'd have on your o2 mobile to pay that £1.67/month) and it's available at something like 1250 exchanges - and has 24x7 UK support. Seems like special interest group pleading to recommend that Plusnet at £20/month!!!!
EVEN if you just get an o2 mobile PAYG to minimise the amount you give to Telefonica's o2, their o2 Premium upto 24Mbps ADSL2+ is only £110 for 1yr ie £9.16/month (ie 50% cheaper than this listed offer on a dozen exchange versus 1250 of them) and even then you'd STILL have £94+ of mobile phone credit that you have wasted/unused.
Don't think ANY ISP is perfect/cheapest/best for everyone but seems like overpromotion of a poor deal to me.

Newnet also don't have any traffic shaping remember. I'm on their 8Mb service and the speed is an extremely reliable 6Mb no matter what time of day.
Also, the only time I've had to call customer services they answered after 2 rings, knew what they were talking and then remembered me when I phoned back a couple of days later to close out the issue.
If the package mentioned above was available in my area I'd certainly use it as IMO you can't put a price on reliability.
No connection to Newnet here by the way, just a happy customer!0 -
