    Morning All!

Hope you are all doing well. Hugs to everyone who needs them!

Payday on Thursday, thank God!! Also flying out to the UK for the weekend on Friday evening! YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! :)

Trying to get all the details sorted for the degree I want to do, so I can get it approved (and financed) by work. I think there is only one place that fits in both schedule wise and location wise, but am waiting to hear back from a couple of other places first to be sure.

I also have to study 2 lanaguages as part of the course. Dutch will be one of them and the other has to be either German, Portuguese, Spanish or French. I'm not sure which one to choose. I was hoping that Chinese, Mandarin or Japanese would be an option as Asia is becoming more and more prominent in international business. Oh well, can only choose those from the course I suppose. What do you guys think is best? I'm leaning towards Spanish as it is more widely spoken than the other languages. Mmmmmm.

My instinct would have been French, but as you already speak English, and will be learning Dutch, Spansih sounds like a good idea (South America will be covered then too :) )

Congrats on coming home, hope you're not flying BA?!

Hi all, another £1 to Barclaycard today.

Busy applying for jobs this morning, not very good at selling myself and hate trying to explain why they should give me the job. :p:o
When you're applying for a job or being interviewed then just imagine you're talking on someone else's behalf. Makes it much easier to big up and talk about all your good points without feeling too self conscious!! :D
Good luck with it all :)

Thanks. Yeah, I was thinking Spanish as that covers quite a bit of Latin America. I know that French is spoken in a fair few countries, but I think it would still be less than Spanish. Not sure though.

I'm not flying BA, thankfully. I am flying out with EasyJet on Friday evening and flying back in the wee small hours of Monday morning.

Just whacked my knee against the table leg in the canteen. Hurt like hell and brought a tear to my eye. How embarrassing! Now have a lump and bruise on my kneecap! Sexy!

    Happy Monday all!

Spent the weekend planting OODLES of bulbs, seeds and plants into pots...and spending more money  I didn't realise gardening could be so *!@* expensive! Still, I also heard that I'm receiving a random £300 bonus this month, so that cheered me a little :) And allowed me to treat myself to a skirt from Monsoon...because I'm worth it ;)

Anyhoo. PADs for the weekend are as follows:

    Sat: £2 into Mad Cat
    Sun: £10 into Mad Cat
    Mon: £6.44 into Pirate Pot

    Grand total: £18.44 please COMP!

Green - I hope your brother's partner is doing OK? And well done to boysma for hitting your target!

OK, I'm going for a mooch around the forums now. Have a nice afternoon!

...as someone who has a degree in German (!! but don't make me try to speak it now - have forgotten loads!) and can speak a bit of French, i would go with Spanish, too. I think doing German and Dutch at the same time might be confusing as bits of it are quite similar - but the good news there being once you have mastered Dutch, you would prob find German quite easy to pick up. What a lovely decision to have to make! :)

Yeah, I was leaning towards Spanish, but my Manager mentioned that German might be easier for me to pick up as I am already learning Dutch and they are both Germanic.

But, I also feel like I shouldn't not try something, just because it might be difficult. And Spanish, I think, would be more relevant to international business (and therefore, more used). I think I'm already pretty set on Spanish to be fair.

Hope everyone is OK. I sometimes see people on various threads, who appear to be in meltdown and my heart goes out to them. So anyway, I hope you are all doing better than that today and that the sun shines where ever you may be! :D

Indeed German would be easier for you but I found when I was in Holland, with English (my native language) and my bit of German, I could often figure out Dutch writing - or at least be able to have a half reasonable stab at it. Spanish is very different as you know but shouldn't present a problem. I learnt German and Spanish at school to GCSE standard but it has faded with lack of use. I find it easier to pick up the German now but when in Spain, I often understand much of what my English friend is saying to Spaniards. I just can't understand their replies :D .
