  • Hi Guys,

A bit of a long story but I'm wondering if I might get a bank charge....

Yesterday, I moved money here there and everywhere to try and empty my current account so I wouldn't spend any money that I didn't need to spend (F_F have started a new challenge and I don't wanna fluff up straight-away!!)

I was waiting for a couple of payments to come out and, going by my available balance, I had enough to cover them.

I had to use my debit card this morning and spent £5.50 (yes, the amount is important!!)

Anyway, I logged onto online banking a little while ago to my balance being zero which was fine but I had to transfer money back to my current account as I have to go to Tesco for yet more groceries *insert rolley eyes smiley*

I transferred £10.00 from savings to current account but my available balance was £9.50 so my question is this...If I only had £5.00 available, why would the bank have let a debit card payment of £5.50 go through and if I wasn't showing as being overdrawn, am I likely to get a charge?!

If they do charge you, just tell them that you're the counter upper on Moneysavingexpert and you will set Martin Lewis onto them unless they reverse it.

Hi all, a bit quiet here this morning! Welcome to any newbies. :hello:

    Another £1 to Barclaycard today.

I got a new plant last week and my naughty cats keep knocking it over and eating the flowers!:rotfl: This is plus the cat who eats the dirt from the pot the bonsai tree is in.

    Morning All!

Still no PAD from me I'm afraid, but payday is edging closer.

I finally called the council this week and asked if they could pick up some big items for us (it's free and they do it whenever asked), so we put a load of carp out last night ready for this morning's collection. Cleared some space in the apartment!!! Wahoooooo! AND, we even found the TV and surround sound remote controls which have been missing for the last 2 and a half years! hahaha. We got by as we could change channels with the cable remote and just got up off our @rse's for anything else! lol OH is dead pleased!

We also made one of the neighbours happy as he was out to grab our old bathroom storage unit immediately! lol. It's old, rusty and falling apart yet still found a new home! :D

Hope you're all well! Have a good day.

    xx
