    Happy Hump Day folks :)

    PAD today is a shiny £2 coin into the Mad Catter and a tiny £1 coin into my Smoking Pot...making £3 total please! :)

    Still going strong without tobacco, however I'm needing to be strong for my fiance which is helping. The poor love is finding it all quite hard. However, it's Day Three now and I am determined not to go back to polluting myself with that foul stuff. I've splashed out £4 on a Pilates book and DVD this week, and plan to have a go at a new regime now that my lungs can handle it :o

    I hope all are well out there.

  • Well done on all your moneysaving Euro!!

    I have just paid referencing and holding fees on a flat!! It's going to be about £450 each, as the rent is a bit more than advertised (typing error apparently, anyone know if we have a good argument for false advertising??) but hopefully it'll be worth it!!

    No pads for me obviously, as I shall just be shelling out for more deposits and things. 6th July is my moving date!

    Thank you!

    And, no, unfortunately I don't have a good argument for false advertising. :( However, you could always state that you only viewed the place, based on it's advertised rent and would therefore like them to reduce it. Ask for the original advertised price, but be willing to compromise somewhere between advertised and current asking price. Small discount is better than none!

    As it is, I think they may just be trying their luck. If you weren't on a deadline for moving, I would advise you to say 'Advertised asking price or we walk'. But, that would be too big a risk for you to take right now. Is it a private rental? Or through an agent?

    Does it still fit with your budget? Is it worth the extra money? ie, did you originally think 'wow, that's a cheap price for that flat/house'?

    Most importantly, do you have the time to search around a few other places before signing any paperwork? Or, are you running very low on time (sorry, can't remember the exact dates)?

  • Need somewhere by the end of the month, luckily its only £25 more but it means we are paying around £450 each including bills which is a bit more than my budget of £400 but I have to look at it as paying a bit more for my happiness and hopefully having a 'home' for a while. As we are moving in together, it's both of ours, not just one or the others if that makes sense. The letting agent has called the landlord to talk to him about it so we are just waiting to hear from them, however as we have paid our referencing fees and part of the deposit, then really we have no choice but to continue as we will lose £500 if we pull out.

    But I'm still very :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:beer::beer::beer::beer:

    This is greeeeat news! :T You're right though - it's not worth losing £500 over the slight price hike, but if you don't ask... :) I've got me toes crossed for you that the landlord's in a good mood!

    Yeah. It's not a big increase, so that's not too bad.

    So long as you can afford it and will be happy, that's all that matters!

    Yay for Pyscho!!!!!!!!:j:j:j
