Reading the CSA website it sounds like the whole process of dealing with maintenance should be simple and straight forward.

What happens if the non-resident parent who has struck a deal with the CSA then becomes out of work and on Jobseekers and their income is then less than before?

You don't strike deals with the CSA .If you become unemployed you inform them and they will reasses .

If you have no dealings with the CSA why bother on this forum .There is a wealth of Knowledge on peoples real life experiences with the CSA .

Don't knock it till youve tried it :)

Had my court date yesterday and I'm so glad I went!

I explained to the lady representing the csa my situation and she could see staight away something was wrong with their calculations. She said I can go home without going into court and she would ask for it to be adjourned for 8 weeks whilst she speaks to belfast and gets it recalculated. She then said I doubt you'll need to come back at all! Finally after almost 3 years someone listened.

    Back in court again!!

Since having the application for LO withdrawn in March 10, the CSA are again chasing the incorrect arreas.

I thought that would be the end of it! But no, they are again chassing the £14k and I am expecting a liabilty order from them shortly.

Is there anything I can do? I am just hoping that if I provide them with the same evidence again they should not only withdraw it but clear the incorrect arreas.

Not sure if anyone can help but not sure what to do.

    Thanks in advance

Did you get the reassessment done at all at the time from the last court hearing? Did you get your data protection prints?

I am waiting for data info from IT security. After the court hearing they didn't do a reassessment. Which I have requested repatedly but they never reply to me. I've kept notes etc of calls/letters.

My question is, will I benifit form going to the court?

    No.

Not even the magistrate can challenge the assessment.

It is 70 miles away and I'm struggling to get time off work. Am I going to get a chance to have my say and provide them with the correct info?

Save your money and conserve energy in getting the assessment put right. Others can advise better on how to have the ICE look at your case.

They are only doing it because the CSA is vexatious hoping you give up fighting and pay it.

Look at the correspondence file carefully and see if Section 2 of the Fraud Act 2006 applies. You can make lots of noise with that and often has individual CSA caseworkers dancing to your tune.
