My Union contacts tell me that, because of the Civil Service strike tomorrow, some Jobcentres will be closed, and others will be running a partial service and some will be open as normal

It might be a idea to ring your Jobcentre before you set out if you have a appointment or are signing on over the next couple of days to find out whats what :)

Why? so you can milk the taxpayer whilst in work then milk then again when your made redundant :D

Is this a knee jerk reaction due to the conservatives going to be in power and are going to cut the dead weight from the civil service
  • Ring up to be sure. Surprised there's been nothing in the papers/news about this if it concerns so many.

I don't see why the public sector should be exempt from the cuts that the private sector had. After all, Gordon Brown has spent all the money and is borrowing £178bn a year!

It isnt the public sector that !!!!ed the nation up - that was the private sector - why should the Public Sector pay for private sector incompetence?
