Did l read somewhere that 'Game' may be on the verge of going under, so perhaps he was trying his best to boost sales not realising that it both annoyed the customer and would no doubt have no effect on if the business survived or not.
I'm like the OP, l walk and shop elsewhere when a salesperson go on like that0 -

i dont let an annoying sales assistant stop me from getting the best deal. if the shop has the best deal i will get it and just stand firm against any crap they are trying to push on me. my dad on the other hand is a sucker. if someone tried to sell him tampons he would buy them.0 -

i do find it annoying when it becomes clear that i know more than the sales assistant. this happens most in electrical shops.0 -

Well, they do advise against them for 'best performance'. If you use rechargeables, you will be changing the batteries more often than with normal batteries - but since they're rechargeable it doesn't really matter. The main reason they advise against it is because they want to flog you a charging kit.
That said, the charging kits aren't unreasonably priced, they are more convinient than rechargable batteries because they should last longer between charges, and you have the added bonus of still being able to use the controller while it's charging, because you plug it into the console.0 -

Cheap Chargers of E-Bay, NoooooooooooooBowling_4_Gold wrote: »Game's play and charge kit (what they were trying to flog you) is overpriced. I picked one up off eBay much more cheaply. I must admit they are very convienient - no need to take batteries out and plug them into the wall to charge - simply plug the cable which comes with the kit into the controller, and the other end into your Xbox or any other gadget with a USB port.0 -

He was determined I would buy something else, when it was clear I thought he was spouting rubbish and would not be taking up his offer of the plug and play, he then started trying to flog me extended insurance!!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
