    Morning all:j

Day started off nice & sunny but typically it's dull now, welcome to the Pennines LOL. Oh yeah, forgot cream needed for chafing - E45 OK? I know those scaffold poles are not that smooth ..............not like my shiny un-used one. :DMaybe I can put it on Freecycle?

Very excited because I'm off this afters to pick up a kick-step thingy from freecycle.....I'll be able to reach the top shelves in my pantry without getting the steps (or DH) out:D No excuse for leaving stuff littered all over the kitchen any more dammit.

DD will be coming with me so I feel an expensive trip coming on, ie off to shops afterwards. maybe i can restrict her to HB & Netto, here's hoping. She goes back to Uni tomoz, maybe then we can get some work done, before she comes back again, probably at the weekend:eek: serves us right for involving her in rugby since she was in nappies:rotfl:

Have a lovely day all, we have still not been paid so no big payments today. Have however got a massive tax bill to pay at end Sept :eek::eek: scary or what.
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

Have a good afternoon Sash......its no good saying don't spend too much 'cos it might be out of your control.:( My son's used to buy the most expensive stuff to take back to Uni, especially when either me of OH were picking up the bill......which was always when they went back. Only the best branded stuff used to go into the trolley.

  • aaargh doggy does like a bit of paper and because of our DMP I've been filing it all instead of letting him shred it, so my own fault I suppose but I could've murdered him this morning, not only has he cost a fortune at the vets, he's eaten the cheque now, so he's in the definite bad books, no sweeties to-day!!!

Hi everyone, I'm back! :jJust catching up with everyone's postings - goodness me you've all been busy! I only left for a bit, then got waylaid with the TV, washing up and sorting out my boot sale bits for Thursday, and what do I find? You've all been on that pole and without me, too! Glad doggy's ok pure dead dopey even if he drives you nuts, like my sons' dogs too, still wouldn't be without him I bet - our doggies are more like human kids than dogs! My favourite saying at home is 'dogs are human too, you know!' and there is a lot of role reversal when I get told off for letting them get away with things ... :D

Am about to do my first boot sale with all the embarrassing mounds and mounds and moungs of stuff mainly clothes that I have amassed. I'd love to know if any of you have done one, and how it went. Somehow, in spite of success stories told to me by my OH, I am unconvinced - will I really sell it?

My usual ploy used to be (pink cheeks and cold sweat) :mad:to take all the 'evidence' of my excesses to the local tip - I know, I know - as our charity shops are full to brim with donations and are now actually rejecting stuff!

    Hi Ninnins.

I did warn you, it could all kick off at a moments notice,.!! :D

I havn't done a boot sale for years, I do find e-bay is better, although, as everyone on this thread knows, I absolutely having to do the wrapping up and posting off. I think the bonus of doing a boot sale is that its over and done with in one day. Yes, you can sell things, but people will try and bargain you down. I always make sure that everything is nicely ironed etc, and well presented, and do find that it makes more money.:T:T

It's certainly one way of clearing out and de-cluttering. I know find it embarrassing to find clothing in my wardrobe that still has the tags on from my pre LBM.:o

    Thanks elsie52:)
Done a bit of ebaying since I 'discovered' it in January - I must say I agree with you on the presentation front, somehow a nice picture goes a long way. But there is soooooooooooooooooooo much stuff to get rid off that I'd have to be at it 24/7 for several years to get rid on ebay! As you say, want to let it all go in one go - even having said that, looking at the mountains of stuff, OH and I are predicting that we will need to do around 3 or 4 to get rid of it all, and that's with the car chocca to the brim!
Feeling really down at the moment about the sheer magnitude of the debt repayment and preparing for retirment plan. Somehow, the minute I tell myself I must stop buying, I suddenly feel a sense of panic that I will 'run out' of warm comfortable tops or bottoms, and I feel an urge to start buying for a 'rainy day'. It's getting me down to the point where I think I am obsessed by it.:(

    Hi Ninnins,

Don't let the debt get you down. We started off owing £74k and after 26 months we have paid off £41k.....we now owe £33k.......still very scary, but a whole lot easier to say out loud now.!! After you have been busting the debt for some time, it then becomes an obsession NOT to spend any money........I almost object to going shopping, 'cos all I can think about is being debt free. My OH is 60 and I am 58 so we have 5 years maximum to get organized.

    Hi everyone

I really am going to have to stop watching evening TV. I come back on here and you have all been partying again.
I hate to tell you this DMB but my OH quite often doesn't eat all day and is definately much fatter than Joanna Lumley:eek:
PDD your little doggy sounds like ours used to be. We had a boxer that was really good at answering the phone (apart from putting his teeth through it) and tugging at curtains and papers and letters and anything else that he fancied (but he was still the family baby and could get away with murder:))

Its amazing how far you can make food stretch when money is tight. We are a little bit skint this month because the gas bill was bigger than we would have liked and OH paid for a hire car for our boys to come down for Easter (I'm OK with them so far away the rest of the time but holidays are a bit horrid when they are in the north west and we are in Reading)so we are making do with what we have in the freezer and cupboards. I would happily live off bread and water all month than have not had them visit. Anyway I have got a lovely veg chilli doing its thing in the slowcooker so I am now going to have half an hour with a good book.

Everyone sounds in high spirits so lets hope we all stay that way:)
    Have a good day everyone
