    Good morning everyone,

I hope that you are all well, and have enjoyed the Easter break, it sounds as if you all have had a good time, but its back to normal today. :D I, for one am glad about that. I don't usually see my children at holiday times, they are all boys, and they usually go to wives, girlfriends families. There is a saying that says. A son is a son until he gets a wife, and a daughter is a daughter all of her life. From my experience that is so true. I find it very upsetting but that's just how it is. Anyway, enough of my grumbling. I'm on a day off, which means I have had 4 days off in a row, so I will be glad to get back to work tomorrow. :T

Just checked the bank balance, and that is as expected, most of the DD and recent spending has now come out after the Easter break, and it sure has reduced the balance.!! But on the positive side, its gone towards paying off the debt.....we can't have it all ways can we. :(

Will just be catching up on the housework side of things, OH away for a couple of days so no main meal to cook tonight. Washing is in, so I'm going for coffee and breakfast, then make a start.:)

    Have a good day everyone

Hello everyone, Easter over with, but as I'm officially retired no change in routine for me. I know what you mean about boys, Elsie, my eldest is like that, and the younger, although single, is 'so busy' I am lucky to see him for 10 mins at a time once or twice a month. But as my dad used to say to mam 'its no use bringing them up to be independent if you are going to complain when they are'.
Oh well, up an at em!:)

Made the first payment last week.
HFC rang today and said they were still waiting for the
    offer from CCCS.
When I told them how much she said right we'll freeze
    interest and charges immediately.
Was really nice, shows what can be achieved when
someone rings who knows the score and can make
decisions, not some call centre in India reading from
    a script.

Well done you. that's really good to get interest and charges stopped. As you say, when someone is understanding of the situation it makes things heck of a lot better.

Morning. mrsi...... I would be happy with seeing them once a month, but its more like once or twice a year now......which is pretty heartbreaking because we were such a close family. They have got great careers and lives and I wouldn't want anything less for them, just for them to remember us sometimes. Ce la Vie.

    morning All

was out early this morning for a training day and then discovered that the business had made a mess of the date and the pre-training, so had to cancel and reschedule, what a waste of time.......... So now hiding on the sofa. My two still live here and I can't see a day when they won't, DS still at uni and DD works in theatre so its contracty and hit and miss, still its nice to have the company even if it costs a fortune. We still have to pay DS's uni fees until he is 25 because of the amount we earn, they don't take any notice of what's going out just the inward figure, hey ho, nothing for it but to go on working to pay the debt (still be working when I'm 303)

    Hi PDD,

I know what you mean about the uni fee's.....we were the same, we had two at Uni at the same time and one of ours stayed on to do their Masters degree. Never ending money tree, but its worth it in the end.

Just logged onto our Justabank account, we can check our Payplan DMP, and Lloyds have rejected our offer on a overdraft that we have with them. As you know we have been paying this for over 2 years, and there is only £500 outstanding, so why now reject the offer. I give up, I just feel like paying that off, but I know that we are not allowed to "favour" one creditor above another.!! Sometimes, I wonder if we did the right thing, it seemed to be at the time, and for the last 2 years, but then al of a sudden things seem to be a problem.

Anyway, going to hang some more washing out, and have a coffee.

With CCCS there is a wee drop down menu on their website where you can change debt totals, for instance I have had to increase a couple cos they were still charging interest and I wanted to keep the total as true as poss. One of the options is "received funds from family and friends" which I take to mean I could f&f an account and take it off the total using this, are you sure Payplan doesn't have something similar cunningly hidden on justabank somewhere??

    Hi everyone,

Hope you have all had a good day.

Did the washing, got it all dry outside, and then did the ironing. Not my favourite chore, but better when its freshly line dried. :T

Checked our online DMP with Justabank, and its showing that another creditor has rejected our offer, 3 in total. I have asked for advice from other MSE members, and a couple have come back to me to say this has happened to them before, but just to keep paying.!! You would think that all the problems should be at the beginning when things are being set up, but it would appear that we get these problems, even after 2 years.

We can alter anything, i.e. balances outstanding, income, expenditure etc, I had a statement from Barclays, which showed that we actually owed less than Payplan were saying, only by about £170, but Payplan, said not to do it, because they then had to send out new Financial Statements, showing the new balances. We also can pay in to the account, but it would be shared out pro-rata between our creditors. Our smallest account is the o/d with Lloyds for £514, but we wouldn't be allowed to pay it off.
