All jokes aside I do need to buy some of those baking blind beans. I don't go to Lakeland very often & I hate paying P&P if I don't have to.

I suspose a good kitchen dept of a department store?

I use dried beans in place of the ceramic ones.

Mrs E - why buy expensive ceramic leftovers, when a handfull of dries peas or rice will do?

MrsE, most people have a little jar of blind baking home made beans - many things are used such as coins, pasta, rice, dried beans etc. There is a whole thread you can read to see what others do :)

As far as I know , you put a layer of greaseproof between the base and the beans (although reading recently, some people don't see the need for the beans, and just poke it with a fork and hope for the best)

    Baking beans
    :)
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

My hubby would do a chunk everyday for his lunch.
Even reduced this works out expensive.

They will be expensive ;) Asyou say, they're fiddly to make, and they have a high proportion of meat.

I'm planning making this at the weekend :j
