My latest bill from Calor gas (LPG) has shown 17.5% VAT a massive increase from 5% on the last bill. Arent all gas and electricity bills charged at the same reduced rate of 5% for VAT?

Yes, if you are a domestic customer you should still only be charged 5%. Business customers pay 17.5%. There has just been a mix-up, probably with the change back from 15%.0
