wow thats a long wait have already got the british gas one for the living room which did come quickly and was hopeing for one for the bedroom have applied for the edf one but have got to wait 28 days just for the code to order it , if i end up with a spare one will pass it on to someone they reckon(edf that is) leaving your telly on standby costs up to £37 per year so its got to be worth the effort

    Hi,

The PowerDown's only available from Sainsburys stores. This link gives details and also a list of the Sainsburys stores taking part.

Don't get confused by the climate !!!!! - this number is nonsense. Since this year a TV is allowed to use 2W maximum in standby, which costs you about 2 pounds a year, and most modern TVs will already use a lot less than that. Technically that is of course "up to 37 pounds", but the number is a smoke screen.

Now there are exceptions, some models from the 80s use the main transformer for standby, and they often make a faint noise, too. That is indeed inefficient, but you can easily pick up a nice modern CRT TV on freecycle to replace your old junk.

my local council give these away when they are having community day events
    We have had all three.
The shower saver, to be honest, we cannot use it on our shower as it messes the pump up. We have a pump under the bath and it judders when this is connected.

Really disappointed no Sainsbury's round here so we miss out again, the only time we get anything is when the news agent has them to give out like they did with the mirror light bulbs
