Can I go entirely off topic on the second post?

I have a huge problem. I have bought jodhpurs (purely as a fashion item). Actually I have bought two pairs. I have gone a little mad on the Hobbs sale (thank you FC, I have spent a fortune saving a fortune:cool:).

!!!!!! do you wear on your feet with them?

Riding boots just look ridiculous, I look like I am entering a dressage competition.

    Help.................

Well, up to a point. Jodhpurs are also easy to get wrong. They're great for disguising the aptly named saddle-bags, but look for pairs with pockets set at the front, not the sides, as these will accentuate hips. Also, beware - they can make your calves look fat if they are too tight in the leg. The best solution is to buy a pair with buttons from calf to ankle, which you can adjust to give yourself more leeway.

When choosing what to wear with your jodhpurs, it's all in the mix. Ring the changes with silk shirts and pearls, a classic black polo neck or a Victoriana blouse. Always tuck your top in and accentuate your waist with a belt.

And a final word of warning: never accessorise with equestrian props. Riding boots are a no-no. To carry off jodhpurs, you'll need a pair of stack heels, platforms, coloured patent round-toes or shoe-boots. The tall can stick to ballet pumps.

Given that it was in fashion in 2007, Jodhpurs are probably already out of fashion. Edit: although, I did find this reference: http://www.fashionising.com/trends/b--Jodhpurs-as-day-wear-womens-fashion-trend-2447.html .

jodhs always come back. The thing is, because they were ''work clothes'' for me I'd as soon wear them out as a plumber would a boiler suit. so never thought about it much, more just how to make them acceptable to wear into the food shops on the way home without changing...

Isn't is okay so long as they're not accompanied by mud clogged wellies?
