Have you definitely unzipped the new firmware file to a different directory on your hard drive? (it will probably have exactly the same file name as before).
You should definitely get to this stage whether you are trying to load a genuine Voyager firmware update file or a hacked firmware file.

connect the modem to your PC via ethernet and ensure the dsl line is connected

Firmware upgrade Help
Current firmware version is 2.21.05.08n_A2pB018c1.d16d

Click "Upgrade" to check if there are any new firmwares available at the web sites of your ISP and download new firmware from ISP to your Voyager directly.
Warning: DO NOT switch off your BT Voyager during firmware upgrades.

The status of the upgrade will be displayed. Please wait for the upgrade to complete before continuing to navigate the configuration manager.
