hi
I am with 3 mobile and have been for the last 7 years, everything has been great and never had any issues. My wife is also with 3 which is in my name aswell (i have 2 contracts)
about 6 months ago we started to notice that our reception kept breaking up when talking to people but our signal stays full.
It is so frustrating cos about 8 calls out of 10 this happens but the strangest thing is is that our signal doesnt drop, the signal is always at full with the 3g symbol aswell, the person on the other line can hear us but for us we can only hear every 2nd word.
Its not the phone because we both have different phones and i have also tried 3 of my older phones aswell.
It seems to be only at my house and maybe about 300m radious around my house, everywhere else is fine.
i have went to the 3 shop a few times and they just keep saying it must be the phone because our area has a good reception.
is there anything i can do to get out of my contract without paying a balance, or is ther a way to find out if something has changed in my area
i am only about 8 months into an 18 month contract (on both contracts)
any advice is much appreciated
thanks

Contact 3 technical support explain situation and ask them to have your local transmitter,s checked out.0

I too will be leaving 3 for this lack of coverage issue, last year was terrible. It seemed every where I went coverage was poor. The key tappers said it was the phone. Nokia S/C checked out the phone and said it was fine. I put a T Mobile sim in it and it was fine even in areas where T-M reconned they had poor coverage.
This week chatting to a mate who is also having problems at the other end of the country so it must be a national problem 3 have
I smiled at the "Technical Support" bit in the previous thread - wasnt aware they had any or I havnt found them yet !!!0 -
just phoned tech support, woman was really nice and we could understand each other. She told me to write down every call i make, where when and if it was good or bad. i told her ive already got a note of all my calls but im out of the house at the moment to make this call. She is going to phone me back within the hour so not sure what will happen next.
They keep saying that my area is in a full signal area, but ive told them that they have either changed something or there are to many people running off the same mast. What ever the problem is, its not anything ive done so i will be pushing to get out of my contract as i cant take this any longer.
I will report back when 3 phone me back. What goes around - comes around

just off the phone to 3, they put me through to the technical department. the technician said right away that it is a network fault and its called traffic conjestion, basicslly too many people running off the same mast (base station). He said that it is easily fixed, he will get engineers to upgrade the base station, and i will see an improvement within 3 days. He also said that they will give me this month free.
Personally I think they are talking rubbish, there is no way they will upgrade a base station just for me. It is good the fact that they have admitted its a fault at their end and the fact that they are refunding money means that if its still not fixed i should be able to change networks. What goes around - comes around

Who says it is just for you, if your having issues there may be others, least they gave you a month free but if its still poor after a week i'd demand to move to a proper network0 -
they said that i was the only one that had a problem in this area, I actually hope that they dont fix it as ive just had enough and just want away from 3.What goes around - comes around

I've just bought out the last two months of my 3 contract because of signal problems. Always been terrible at my home but getting worse everywhere now. Have gone to orange.0

well, you're read my thread, so know that 3s claims of engineering works seemed to be based in fact, as the service did dramatically imporve one day (just after I got 4 PACs). Once they understood I was unhappy, and it was an ongoing issue, they seemed very happy to let me leave without penalty..just ask to be let out of the contract, explain that not paying for the unacceptable 3 service is not a solution, as you must pay for another service (in my case BT) which works out more expensiveUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
