I want to gain computer access at home. I dont have a land line although there has been one at my property before, so could be re-instated.
Am wanting to buy a lap top and thinking of having mobile broadband. Can anyone give me an idea of some good providers and how easy it is to set it all up.
Any advice very much appreciated.

Do you mean internet access?
Most Mobile Phone operators offer mobile broadband.
Just a matter of plugging in the USB dongle they supply installing some software and off you go.
It will be more costly than landline based ADSL broadband.
Your alternative would be cable if in a cabled area. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
First of all check which operators you can receive at your location. The best providers are those whom you can get, the others are useless to you. Establish that first and then look at the packages on offer.
Mobile broadband is not a substitute for ADSL broadband, so don't think you'll be getting ADSL-type speeds or capacity. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
In my experience, the best 3G mobile broadband provider is actually 3, believe it or not. They have BY FAR the best 3G coverage in the UK.
However, their customer service is truly shocking.
I have also used Vodafone, O2 and T-Mobile mobile broadband. Vodafone offer the best QUALITY signal (in terms of speed), but their 3G coverage is poor compared to 3. The same applies to 02 and T-Mobile - their 3G coverage is poor.0
