Finally got a good nights sleep. Puppy slept through the night and woke without howling. I'm still sporting the panda look with big black circles round my eyes but no longer feeling totally and utterly exhausted.0

I fear its many years since I looked vaguely human.
Overtime done... wasn't as bad as I thought, in fact I was enjoying myself so much that I did 20 minutes too much. Still at least I can knock it off tonights hours and so I'm going to be a naughty moo and not go to back to school until the v. v. last minute so that hopefully I can surprise OH and be here when he gets home, probably not for very long if traffic is like normal but long enough to say hi.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Whoop whoop whoop. Overtime was paid yesterday and we got an unexpected bonus as it was far sparklier than the builders had expected. £26.70 for two hours work. Just wish I got paid that much every day.
OH is home with an enormous amount of laundry. Not sure whats clean and whats not but it all honks of smoke so I'll be washing the lot anyway. Oh joy. Have to say the best part about having him home was walking in the door to dinner on the table. T'was lovely not to have to cook and it meant the DDs went to bed half an hour earlier than normal although DD2 has been awake since 6am but at least that means shes had enough sleep. Bet DD1 still wakes up grumpy though.
Not planning to spend any money today for any reason and will be leaving my wallet home to ensure this happens so I am officially declaring myself significantly under budget for April no matter what happens (fatal last words!). Perhaps I've finally got the hang of this debt busting malarky.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
*insert smug git smiley here* I came in under budget for April. in fact I came in so far under budget I could have limboed under my budget. Shame about the couple of months preceding April but had I not splurged on the four legged poo machine and an abundance of puppy related accessories I would be v. close to being slap bang on budget for the first 4 months of the year.
Total spends for April £1539.31/ £1667
I should really break this down into its respective categories but that would be scary and although thats the whole point of keeping a diary it would mean my "miscellaneous" category should be renamed "the puppy and school trip fund".
Food and assorted supermarket purchases for the month came to a rather ridiculous £301.98. This is one area I can definately cut back on but it is rather nice to occassionally be a lady who lunches even if that lunch is a chip butty.
May has commenced with a spending spree.

As promised. Puppy aged 7 weeks.Pics aren't great but taking a decent picture of a totally black dog is considerably harder than you think. To give you an idea of scale the doorway is 4' wide (1.2m for all you whippersnappers out there).
I just wanted to quote this as your puppy is so cute

She doesn't look like that any more though. Her legs have grown disproportionately to the rest of her and she looks rather funny a bit like a giraffe. Her coat is super glossy too and has lost the puppy fuzz. Shes still rather cute though..Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Another day another meh moment. OH has finally finished upacking. Lurking in the bag was the blokey version of MSE. Why quit smoking when you can buy duty free tobacco at half the UK cost? Indeed why buy one mega pack when you can buy 3? Yep we're a 1.5kg of tobacco household. In theory averaging it out at a pack a week thats 3 months supply but since its on the shelf and readily available I bet it will be gone in two. Meanwhile we have Nicorette patches and gum and inhalators and an electronic fag and two months supply of refills all of which are out of date because he decided to quit on several dozen occassions and then stopped trying to quit v. shortly afterwards.
On the plus side he hasn't spent as much as normal but he did withdraw twice as much money as he needed from the cash point leaving a sizeable wodge of cash in funny money for the next trip to languish in a cupboard as its not worth changing it back only for him to do the same again next month and then he spent as much again on plastic which will attract all sorts of v. expensive charges. However everything hes spent is covered by his expense allowance so whilst nothing comes off the debt overall it hasn't cost us anything either or at least it won't have done once hes reimbursed by work. Still very very infuriating though.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Today is gloriously sunny which means I can get al the washing that got rained on repeatedly yesterday dried today and do lots more in the hopes of having clean uniforms for the DDs on Tuesday. Hopefully it will stay nice enough to take the DDs out for a bike ride this afternoon. Otherwise I'm hoping for a very laid back lazy day with a spot of garden decluttering thrown in. Have to do a spot of investigating as I'm pretty sure I have a broody hen sitting on a mountain of eggs in the hedge. If she is I need to move herout of the foxes way and reduce the number of eggs to a mangable size. Theres no way I want several dozen chicks around nor that she can successfully hatch that many either.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
