I wont bore you with my previously aired opinions & advice, but I will say ( & meant in the nicest way) I think you both need an epiphany, you deserve better & so do your daughters. They are not able to choose where & how they live, they rely on you to do that for them.

Best wishes for a peaceful christmas & happy new year.

Should that not occur, I am willing to attempt Top Gear style drive by shooting practice with frozen dog poo as ammo :D

Would be worth leaving just to see that Lula.

Turns out OH does not recall offering to leave nor informing me he was quitting his job or telling me to quit mine. Have reminded him of this and he looked rather blank but did agree that perhaps some time on his own was needed then I wouldn't have to worry about him. Think he was floored when I told him I'd worry even more if I didn't know what was going on and what sort of state he'd got himself into. Appears he feels v. Jekyl and Hyde. Its progress, of a sort. The sensible side of me knows that leaving over Christmas would be awful for everyone. The irrational side of me doesn't give a stuff though. The DDs will adapt surprisingly quickly.

Have had a v. therapeutic morning chucking soggy stuff. Have been v. lucky, water cascaded down the wall without damaging the tv or any electrical equipment, the majority of the water was on a tiled floor which wasn't as level as it should have been so pooled in the centre. Have washed everything that got wet but had to chuck the hideous carpet from the adjacent room which soaked up water like a sponge and prevented it spreading. Now have bare concrete which is drying out faster than anticipated. Hoping the covers on the sofa will be dry enough to go back on tonight. Once they're out of the way we can decorate the Christmas tree. V. fortunate that I wan't organised enough to do that before we left otherwise all the presents would have been wet too.

Four days at OHs mums was plenty although she was suspiciously nice. DD1 got to go to the cash and carry whilst I spent a fun filled afternoon ironing table cloths. Did read a 600 page novel whilst waiting around as well as plenty of walks on the beach. The DDs swam in the pool a few times although it was a bit cold for me and a bit pointless as far as exercise goes since I can go from end to end just by pushing off from the wall.

Have done huge amounts of laundry with an enormous pile still to go. Also need to go shopping to purchase x-mas dinner and crackers and wot not as well as visiting the tip with a bootful of wet carpet. The DDs are happily watching Shrek and are planning on following this with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe so I guess thats waiting till this evening when we can admire all the decorations. Will give me chance to work out what we need for the next couple of weeks.

Leaving over christmas definitely not ideal however, its known as the most stressful time of year so perhaps a little time spent alone might be good for him in the new year, I still maintain that all residential roads should have houses for women & children to live in & then a small block of studio apartments at the end where the men live & can be summoned from to perform good deeds ( whatever the lady wants ;)) & then return to when task completed to lady's satisfaction.

Now, that is a female utopia :D
