Howdens Kitchen quote

Can anyone give me an idea of a price for a Howdens Howarth Oak ( white) kitchen. Had their kitchen designer come out and see us but he was a bit of a pratt ( got a speech about how they were trade only and couldn't give us any idea of prices) refused to give us any details whatsoever. Total waste of ours and his time. Plus, he wouldn;t tell us what size units were available and he dismissed all our ideas as "impractical" without suggesting why, or alternatives.
I shall just go round all the other branches in my area 'till i can find one more co-operative. I am fully prepared to have to order one through an approved tradesman. I just dont expect to be totally blanked by the supplier.
I know they routinely give 70 -85 % discount on their trade prices, so even if someone has a RRP list that will help.

I've had an account with them for years and I've never seen a RRP list! You need to find a joiner/ kitchen fitter and get them to get you their prices.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I would try another Branch PMS.I have around 6 in my area but only deal with 1.It sounds like you have had a bad one...Would just add that if you don't get some decent service from the next branch then they don't deserve your money. No excuse for poor service.0

I just had a quotation from them & different discounts are applied to different items so it would be very difficult for someone else to give you an example. I still have trouble understanding the quote but our discount ranges from 50% to 80% off. I went into the showroom today & they couldnt have been more helpful, I didnt ask about prices today though.
I would say try a different branch & if you can mention the name of the account it is going through on then they should be more than happy to help.
Big thumbs down for the idiot you had the unfortunate luck to come to your house.0 -
I actually found a similar attitude in the Howden's branch I went into to check on their display. I put it down to the fact they deal with trade rather than customers especially when a colleague had to tell the guy to finish helping me rather than chatting to someone else.
As it happened I didn't want a designer out and my fitter deals with a different branch so I only went back once after that to check out the door handles. So try another branch as people have said, I'm very happy with my kitchen and the price.0 -
We visited Howdens at the end of last year, and happened to see a price list left on the side....DH put our file of papers over it, then, by mistake, picked the price list up on our way out.... What a shame.
At the back of the price list, they have a list price for a typical kitchen, which at least allows you to guage where the kitchen you like comes in the price range. the most expensive kitchen is the Haworth Oak at £6500 ish. The cheapest is Howden 400, at just over £1000.
The typical kitchen comprises 8 unitssuch as a drawer base unit, corner base unit, wall unit, hob wall unit, sink base unit and plinths.
Our builder gets between 50% and 80% discount, more on units, less on appliances. He is passing the full discount on to us, although I don't think thisi s always the case...“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -
I found a great place to buy fitted kitchens called Lifestyle Kitchens. They have great deals on fitted kitchens and have free fitting well worth a look. lifestyle-kitchens.net0

Very useful for me too, was the typical kitchen quote including oven etc or just the units please.
that was one of the kitchens I fancyMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
just for info, from what i can gather the installers can get BIG savings on (assuming) inflated RRP units.
but are more restricted on the appliances.
I'm going to one this afternoon in Aldershot, will let you know if the guy is willing to sort me out a price list or not.0
