Hi,
I have aquired a sky+ box and was wondering, do I have to subscribe to sky to use the options (record etc) of the sky box?
Thanks

No,you can have the record/play function's however you'll have to pay Sky £10 a month to use it.0

Is the £10 just to use the record/play functions or does that come with extra channels?
Thanks

That's why i bought a dvd with hard drive i can do almost everything sky+ does including pause live tv and watch a live program befor it has finished and it still records.
i subscribe to sky they get enough out of me without an extra tenner in these hard times0 -

No you don't.
The DVD recorder will have a digital Freeview tuner in it and will record form those channels. If you do subscribe to Sky you can also connect your Sky box to the DVD recorder and record from that.
However unless you are looking to be able to record to DVD I would really recommend a Freeview PVR like the Humax 9300T as it's much easier to work. It will record 2 channels at once plus allow you to pause live TV just like the Sky+ box but with no monthly sub.0 -
Carmen,What jem 16 says above also the dvd i bought it also alows you to pause live tv0
