OK
Well any of the iPods will be OK for you.
On the website they start at £46 and go up to £306.
Maybe someone else will be able to give you a personal recommendation.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Are you really looking for an eReader? An iPod has a smallish screen and does not handle Adobe reader files, which I think your books you wan be in that format.0

This maybe from left-field, but I have a mobile phone that runs Windows Mobile & I use it to play my MP3s and audio-books downloaded from audible.co.uk. It also functions as my SatNav, mobile email oh and yes - a phone. I like the idea of just having one device to carry around, it suits meChris Elvin0

Reading this text, it really seems what you're looking for is a device to listen to audio books. iPod(any iPod is great for that, but it's many times not completely free). It's good to know you were not going to use this device to read ebooks, cause iPod isn't the right device for that in my mind.
As mentioned previously, if you've questions, just get them out and we can look for answers. If you don't make these stupid questions as you mentioned them, we may not help you on the right subject. Keep asking these questions and we may actually be able to help you.
[I my self have an iPod nano, it's good for listening music and I've watched some video podcasts on it, but I can't recommend it as a device for watching videos, cause the screen is just too small]

You'd be better off with something like a Sansa Clip (£40 or so). Then you don't need i-tunes or any proprietary software, simply copy and paste your files directly using Windows Explorer.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Sorry if I offend you, but I think iTunes is an easy way to get the right contents. If you don't want to search for right torrents or try to download some random mp3 files, iTunes store is the easy way to get this stuff. Not trying to promote it, cause regular mp3 is better for anyone with some techie experience, but for someone who's just no interested in that stuff I'd recommend iTunes. And as said before here, if money is not a problem I'd recommend it, if it's I'd try something else.
Hope you can actually get the idea of this post. :rotfl: I tried to make my opinion clear, but I'm not really sure if I did a good job in it.
PS: Many have said that I like Apples stuff too much, so if not interested in them you can just ignore my comments.0 -
You still need to install a third-party application to use it though. If you don't want to search for right torrents or try to download some random mp3 files, iTunes store is the easy way to get this stuff.0 -

That's true, unfortunately. At least if you're running a PC. But third party software is in my mind better downloaded from a reliable source.

You really have a point there. I haven't really thought of that in that way.
