Vikki, don't ever be embarrassed about your body especially in front of a doctor - as leanneq said they really have seen it *all* before!!! Just wear a skirt for your smear and you can hitch it up while lying down.

It's particularly important to have a smear if you became sexually active at a young age.

I am getting better, its only because I am chubby, I would feel better and more confident when I shift this stone and a bit.:)

You've already lost a fair bit though, I lost quite a bit this year and I do feel much better for it, the support on the slimming threads here really helps.

No! dont wait for them to request you to go for a smear, if you were living in a different country you'd be having them every 6 months from 18. Do I need to remind everyone reading this about Jade Goody? If they do a smear every year or two from age 18 then chances are they'll pick up on any problems long before they become serious.
If you dont go for your first smear until your third reminder, probably by then aged 27 - who knows how long any dodgy cells will have had a chance to accumulate. I'd had treatment twice for dodgy cells before I was 24 if I'd waited until i was 25 that could have been serious.

It's uncomfortable not painful, so insist that you get a smear rather than put it off.
