Advice Please - Extended

Hi

My wife and I are going overseas for a minimum of 7 months from April this year. We are leaving our house unoccupied but furnished. On our local government web site it says they 'can' reduce council tax by 50% if a property is left unoccupied but furnished for more than 6 months, which is great. But look as hard as I can I cannot find any info regarding water rates! There is an online form for moving on the United Utilities web site but nothing if the move is temporary. Does anyone know if there is a reduction for the time we will be away?

Thanks

Kevin

If you are not on a water meter you will get no reduction in price whilst you have beds etc at the house. Phone them and say that you are moving out (if they ask for a forwarding address give them a family members and say you are moving in with them)
Pay the final bill and when you move back in give them a call and move back in.
