Help! Newbie & No water!

Thanks to all in advance for any help/advice...

About 8pm last night we lost all water to the house! It was a literal ten minute gap as I filled the kettle for the pasta, then nothing! Not a drop of water. Phoned Southern Water, who told me they had nothing on their screen, therefore if no one else has a problem it is a private issue and to call a plumber... (not very nicely either). Tried to check with neighbours, no one answering. My oh who does basic plumbing for his work, could find no water entering the property at all by checking the stopcock in the basement. Couldn't check the outside one too well in the dark but looked okay. Phoned them again earlier, and still the same response! Of course it would help if I could actually talk to the neighbours, but if no one is responding is fairly difficult, and surely they would have phoned themselves if they had probs by now? Just because it seems that it is only us affected, does that mean it has nothing to do with Southern Water?

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

If it is just you then yes it is down to you to deal with unless you have a lake forming at your meter or on the mains pipe. if a communication pipe on your side has gone then it is your responsibility ( although they might fix it for you, just not in a hurry)

A mains burst would be a couple if not more properties and that would be their responsibility but you have not mentioned a leak, just no water.
I would think they will not come out for that as there is nothing for them to see.

I would check for leaks on the road and I would check your meter if you have on
