HeidiHi

Sold an item and got a message with it asking if I would please post it onto a third party address because this eBayer sells on eBay and sold an extra one of these by mistake.

No need for a lengthy response. No, I wouldn't do it.What is happening to the English Language? These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.0 -
Hi it is not a good idea to send anything to an address other than the one on the paypal payments screen as you lose all of your seller protection if you do.
I would never send anything to a third party for this reason.0 -
depends on the item, its less then a tenner then i would - you may find yourself in the same situation one day and need his help.
When i first started i sold something out of stock (my own fault for forgetting to change QTY when i re-sent something) - i didn’t ask another seller to send to the customer but did buy form the seller and re-send 1st class at my own expense.
Mistakes happen, what would you do in his situation? + its still money in your pocket J0 -
I'm like steven, as long as the item is fairly cheap I would normally send it wherever buyer asked, as long as they were polite. I don't track my stuff anyway so i have no seller protection against non receipt, my COP only protects me against claims for fraudulent use of a card and for a low value item I'd risk that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If I was tracking it and they added the address to Paypal as a gift address. No problem as i'm still protected. As Soolin for lower value items. You never know when you may need a favour0

you don't need to send to the paypal registered address to be covered by seller protection0

You must send it to the address given by paypal in the 'OK to send' box, any other address is not covered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. In the interests of Karma
and helping a fellow eBayer out - I would do it. (I think I have done it actually at times.) That seller looks like a trustworthy one with all their bells and whistles, and has as much - if not more - to lose as you if things go wrong.
Mistakes happen, and it shows integrity to buy on their selling ID and tell you the truth rather than use another id and say it was for their friend's birthday or somesuch tale. As long as they were polite and asked nicely I'd do it - for lowish value items. (Under £20)Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0
