Is this a good deal? Mobile broadband is new to me, I'm looking for something for my laptop when I move in a couple of weeks time. I'd like to try the concept and product out before signing up to a long-term contract.
By the way, my mobile is on PAYG with Vodafone. I'm not sure if that's of any relevance.
Thanks.
Instant access when you need it - and no contract. TopUp and Go gives you a flexible way to enjoy mobile broadband. And it comes with a £15 TopUp, which lasts for up to 30 days.
Download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps mean it's faster than 3G. Your blue USB Modem even comes with 3GB of data - giving you 90 hours of browsing, 2000 emails and hundreds of downloads. And when your credit runs out (or your 30 days are up), simply top up to enjoy more of the same - fast, reliable mobile broadband that covers 80% of the UK population.
No contract. No monthly bill. No fuss. Just a cracking deal for only £25.

How much data do you need? Can't expect people to help without that info.
Vodafone (through Amazon and eBay) still sell the old non-expiry type but it's 1GB per £15.
It's worth popping in to O2, T-Mobile etc shops to see what deals they're doing too.
If you use Quidco you could get some cashback too but work out what you will need first.0 -
It doesn't matter how cheap one is if it won't work where you are.
Your first step should be to investigate the masts near where you intend to use it...

You need the 2100MHz UMTS cells. Ideally within 500m.0 -
The data will almost only be work documents. I very rarely do any downloading.
I'm looking for a flat at the moment so I just entered the post code of my work place for the site finder. It showed 1 for GSM, 0 for UMTS and TETRA and 3 for the shared base stations.
Thanks for your help.0 -
I'd say hold off until you actaully move. Databases are just a load of easily accessible outdated, inaccurate dodgy data usually.
You could consider an O2 dongle (usually unlocked) or unlock a cheap dongle in the meantime and this would allow you to jump from one supplier to the next for testing. Or just go into your nearest O2/T-Mobile/Orange/Vodafone etc store and they'll usually be very honest about your area because you will have the right to return the SIM if it's monthly as you would with a mobile phone contract (ie you have statutory cancellation rights). If you can afford that option then that's the best possibly.
I see no rush.0
