Not really an issue earlier as not having sex but we've been 'active' past month and now have just received letter saying there are still swimmers present 4 months later. Our fault i know for not using precautions but just wanting statistics (don't know why but i think it will make me feel better!)
I know it only takes 1 swimmer but even if there are swimmers present surely there can't be many? and people with low sperm count generally have trouble getting people pregnant? - don't they?
The important thing is whether the sperm were non- motile, if that's all the sample contained it's virtually impossible to get pregnant as the sperm cannot swim up your fallopian tubes. A high live sperm count would indicate failure of the vasectomy."There is a light that never goes out"0 -

If so how long after?
Many people have, but usually not by the partner concerned. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
All the letter says is that was positive for spermatozoa and emphasises the need for using contraception!!0

Maybe clinics word things differently, DH's letter said there was presence of non-motile sperm on his first test.
You need to ring the lab/doctors and ask for specifics, did the sample contain live sperm or non-motile etc. Get him to do another sample, pronto! Rare non-motile or totally clear is what you need."There is a light that never goes out"0 -
A figure of less than 100,000 sperm per ml is counted as infertile. Anything above that, whether live or non-motile, is a cause for concern 4 months after vasectomy, assuming regular ejaculation."There is a light that never goes out"0
