I use Freeview HD as a basic TV listings guide. It doesn't do anything too fancy but it tells me what's on and it was free! (I had been using TV Guide but it added adverts which were a bit irritating).
I have MobileRSS for RSS feeds and it syncs with Google Reader.
Also LOVE Pocket Universe.
WebMD mobile - for self-diagnosing various ailments! Seriously, I've found it quite handy on occasion.. (and it's free!).
ShopShop - functional, free shopping list app. Not overly exciting but handy..0 -
I use 'Flixster' a lot for local cinema showings/times/trailers etc

I highlt recommend the (free) Kindle app. Turns your iphone into an e-reader, but you can only purchase books from Amazon as I understand it. I downladed a $2 book to check it works ok, and it's great.
Also Documents to Go which is about £5 - allows you to create and view MS Word and Excel docs
Also got Iquarium which is 59p I think (might be free), but turns your iphone into an aquarium. You get points every 10 minutes which you use to purchase new bits for the aquarium, so it will take a week or so before you've got a proper set up. Don't forget to feed your fish though!0 -
Don't forget you can download podcasts to listen too anytime you want, sometimes more convenient than listening live. I do this all the time and listen when travelling or at the gym.
If you want a podcast that has a bit on apps I've found a good podcast on itunes call jargon free help, loads of useful advice and also a run down of apps and when not to get one that might not be up to scratch. Search for it on itunes. There is also a sister podcast called jargon free tutorials and there is some great stuff there. I did my ECDL and still learn things from this.
And unlike so many podcasts it's British...hooray.
They also have a website jargonfreehelp.comHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
