Just need to get them to go and do health and safety checks, so I'm gonna give both companies contact details out on the first day of my course. I'm trying to be positive and proactive and make this course work for me and try and get something beneficial out of it.
When does the work experience start - the second week?
there is usually a 1 or 2 day induction to the course in the centre. the work placement starts as soon as possible, sometimes even before the end of the induction. with them needing to do a health and safety check it could mean you spend a week or 2 sat in the centre everyday before you start the placement. if you need any special clothing for the placement, they should supply it for you. things like boots, overalls or even smart clothing for working in an office. they usually try to get out of it by asking if you already have it. so just say no you dont even if you do.0 -

Thanks for the help!
The first company I'm going to is a production company that provide content for the BBC, so they'll pass the health and safety check with flying colours. Just need to make sure someone from the course does the check asap so I'm not hanging around.
I don't need smart clothes to work in a production company's offices, just casual dress, so no way I can really say no! If I was going to a corporate office to do admin I'd definitely try and get some cash for a new outfit!0 -
