Fantastic barclaycard fraud team

Just wanted to sing the praises of the fraud alert system that Barclaycard use.
Yesterday they contacted me about susoected fraud on the account, which proved not to be. But they were bloody quick and very efficient.
An elecrical purchase hit my account early Wednesay, and they had rung me an hour later to query it. They have a simple but quick automated system, and I feel very comfortable knowing how good they are.
For info, the suspect purchases (all legit) were as follows :
petrol station first,
small O2 charge a few days later - pretty standard way for fraudsters to test if a card is still active.
then a big electrical purchase the next day.

Recently I used my credit card 4 times on line in about 15 minutes. The fourth time the website declined my payment and 15 (yes fifteen) seconds the fraud prevention team of my credit card company were ringing my mobile to check that the transaction was valid!0 -
Nothing to do with Barclaycard but OH made a big purchase at christmas and it got stopped by abbey, card put on hold the works (we're talking £250 here).
Because it only gets used for the occasssional £100 here/£50 there and it was out of character they stopped it and were in the phone immediately.
We didn't see the good side of it at the time as we were trying to order something day before christmas eve for next day delivery and nearly threw a huge spanner in the works.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250

Had my daughters card scammed in card machine at Abbey it had two payments taken out of almost £300 each time before fraud measures kicked in and this happened in a town 200+miles away from us
Its taken us 4 weeks to get money back and only because finally I threatened them in a email to close several bank accounts with them

HSBC rang me in minutes after I tried to withdraw cash with my credit card. This is a few year ago though and it had been awhile since Id used my card so I couldnt remember my PIN. I was really impressed with them0

Barclaycard have been pretty good with me, questioning suspicious transactions, and stopping a fraudulent use - which I believe happened when I gave my details to the removal company when we moved house.0

i was scammed on my barclay card - overnight on a sunday - 15 £10 pound transactions on vodaphone top ups throu very quick in gt a store pdq machine and number keyed in (outside trading hours) - barclaycard were very quick in alerting me to this fraud and noticing it was not my usuall transaction history - they closed the account and issued me another card post haste - but they credited fraudulant transacions to my new account (fraudulant transacions that they had discovered and cancelled the account) it took months to sort out - 2 months and loads of phonecalls (transfeered round the whole of barclays telephone system) i enventually ended upm crying down the phone to several departments before they would send the fraud forms out - they origionally told me it had been sorted!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I've had two calls for fraudulent activity. When asked to confirm my details I refused saying that I had no way of knowing if the call was genuine. In each case they said, no problem, ring the number on the back of the card.
Problem spotted before I did and resolved very quickly. The clue in the first incident was a face to face purchase in Leeds a few minutes after I bought petrol at my local garage in Zumerzet.
I've also had two occassions when I've had genuine but "out of character" puchases blocked. All sorted out with a 'phone call, but annoying at the time when I was trying to buy cheap 'plane tickets for a holiday. I would rather have this though than theft of a lot of money and then have to prove it wasn't me.

Tbh my experience of barclaycard fraud team is very very poor - my card got cancelled due to two suspected fraudulent transactions. 1 was my monthly travelcard purchase which they declined, the other was a £30 mobile phone top up that was fraudulent and they let through. Over 18 months on and I'm still trying to get the money refunded...0
