I find that you get to know more about a person through type. People have to work harder at projecting their persona therefore you get to understand what makes people 'tick' rather more than perhaps the superficial niceties you encounter in a face to face sometimes false situation :j

You get to see below the surface but the surface is who we really are.

Everything else is just wishful thinking

I'd like to spend a lot more time 'below the surface' with lots of people instead of the hypocrital hard nosed exterior 'surface' :D

    Afriend, I have missed you

Just hacks me off with all the Labour lies. At least with that Thatch thing she was transparent. Hated the working class and she shoved one up `em.

Hey Pobby, dont despair life is what you make of it. A really lovely friend has given me such a lot of support when things were not so good in all aspects of my life... I feel really good now and so will you :)

Awww, thanks. I guess it`s that it`s me being selfish. Only a few years to retirement, not to say that I will fully retire but if my little business goes, no overheads or debts, phew I struggle to think of how i would make even a modest living. Just being a silly old git.

Where does that end and real life begin?

I have been soo angry with my mother and then I think about the brat and how I have failed her

It is horrible to love someone and want to murder them all at the same time.

    I expect too much.

    lir is very wise.

If you believe that your life can't be OK unless she changes, then you will stay stuck, because it's very unlikely that she will change at this stage in her life, and you have no power to make her change. That's an incredibly frustrating position of helplessness for you.

You need to find a way to be OK about your life whether she changes or not. If being OK only depends on who you become, rather than who she becomes, then you have the capacity to do something about it, and that's incredibly liberating and empowering.

I can recommend you books if you're the sort of person who reads books of that kind. ;)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I dunno. Just in plonker mode today. Got quite a decent pension in under 4 years, just don`t want to eat into it. I was reading the happiness thread about earning £35k a year. I was earning more than that a few years back. Mad , but I was bunging nearly 20k a year into pensions then and because of my wifes illness she was unable to work.
    Ignore me, being silly.
