It's all part of "not knowing/not understanding". I've had my phone for 5 years, it has a number. Everybody has that number. That number is on all my CVs out there in the world.

So, if I changed the whole phone etc, then I wouldn't know about using my existing number.

I'm on TMobile through Utility Warehouse. Got a bill here:
    Line Rental: £6.81
    Calls: £0.41
    VAT £1.26
    Total: £8.48

As misskool says - you can 'port' your number v easily, applies to any phone you buy from anywhere.

Please ring tmobile or carphone warehouse at least, if you won't look at alternatives online - it pains me to see you shelling out £8/month unnecessarily, and then living on beans.

Get paid to get a new shiny phone and lose the unnecessary monthly charge, as michaels says.

    Please. :)

does anyone remember the thread with the iconic images/photos on it? I can't find it & could do with tracking it down.

    Please help!

Good advice on virgin phones for PN. She does need to check that Virgin has a decent reception in her location. I mean a proper check ideally with a real phone in her house, not carphonewarehouse saying that her post code shows good coverage.

Personally I think that Blackberrys are for people who constantly talk to their friends through blackberry instant messenger and update facebook on the move, not for PN. A phone with a good quality camera would be more useful.

One phonecall to T-mobile should do it. Can I have a new phone xxxxxxx please on a contract at £10 a month.

Plenty of advice on MSE - whole board devoted to mobiles.

Juxst a quick log in whilst I take an eating break......big big thanks to PN as I just bought a load of domain names last night on the 123 site......I never knew that was how you did it....double doh!!!!

So I got my brand done as .net, .co (the new columbia one) .org, .uk.com and loads more...I so pleased with myself.

I am having nightmare with our website as the person who built it is totally s**** and can't even be bothered to quote for putting new banner pics on it......too many probs to write about here......but I have to start all over again and build a new one...quotes have been coming in from 2k to 15 k (!)

If I get a quote PN...Could you look it over for me? I am happy to send you your fee for your time....I am desp for a web person consultant whatsit at the mo......

Er... why do you need to create an entire new site? Adding banners is probably fairly easy, unless the original designer of the site was really pants. Or are there other problems?

OK, there is a weird question I have. I have a friend in the United States who produces fabulous jewelry from drift wood and oil paints. It's also very cheap, because of the location she lives in the US. I think there is a market over in my area for this type of stuff, but I have no idea what the regulations on importing goods into the UK are.

It does seem to be a potential money spinner because similar jewelry sells for five to ten times the price in my area of the UK.

Does anyone know anything about this?

There's no fee. This is the nice thread.
    There

:A ......well I usually pay in cash and clothes but I can't wear what I make so I am thinking may not be correct for your Cornish out and about time either. I will spec a breif later on on this thread and if you are up for it.........then we'll talk £££. I have a creative pics man/techy type but he doesn't 'do' the logistics of setting up the site.
I reckon, if we can sort it, we can communicate by e-mail and get everything clear........at worst I may have to pop down to the SW for a morning but it's unlikely.

Seriously....I could get ripped off big time here and how many sharks are out there ready to pounce on technophobes?......and I must also add...the bits and bobs you posted to Max Headroom about SEO and whatnot.....stuck in my head and I understand how it works with google robots etc.

One chancer cold called me (but knows us via our product so not ice cold) and he was trying to sell me 'Magic' SEO and made it sound like he was a total genius.......and a total bargain @ 10k pa.
I did my usual to play dumb (I don't burn bridges or be a know all any more) and marvelled at his internet skills...but I did think....come on !!!!!!?...oh and 15k for a basic webshop. Wally.

I have to go eat now but will try to spec it later on....when my head is clear howver, I now live in a full house again and when everyone gets in I don't get any 'me' or 'online' time as real life butts in....and the washing up???? Man...I can't wait until they leave home. We also seem to end up with all the partners in the house too....it's driving me and Ginger nuts...we like peace and quiet.:D

He won't do it........I have messaged him the 2 pics and asked for a quote to upload and zilch..been 6 days so far.

The shopping part doesn't have the features on it I need (and asked for in the beginning as part of the quote) but he wouldn't let the site go live until I paid the remaining 50% in full.....so we didn't know until it was live. Since then...not interested in doing anything else. I actaully think he does it as an addon and has a F/T PAYE job elswhere as he has an answer service and postdrop address....and has no concept of how to deal with customers whatsoever. He has a programming mate who does the techy stuff but I am not 'allowed' to contact him.

He did try to sell me rip off overpriced photogtraphy which I turned down...I use the same company that Big Corp I sell in use now at a fraction of the price he quoted.

TBH It's all a massive PITA and I need help.

Hm... would you PM me the name of the site? I would be interested in having a look.
