I can get some photos for you, but its not my recipe...what about copyright? AIUI its ok to share on forums in own words...is it ok for you to use?
There is no copyright on recipes, mostly.

It's an interesting piece of copyright law. It's hard to prove who wrote a recipe, especially when it's presented in a different format, tweaked and adjusted.

OK, have it with my pleasure and I'll sort out pictures. Any chance you can receive them via text? (no idea where the wretched camera is!)

    Hi Pastures,

Any chance of you posting a link or two to these DIY web sites, so we can evaluate them? (or link back, I seem to remember you got involved in helping a redundant car salesman with his blog).
I'll see what I can find. That stuff's out of my head and from experience and it's hard to find links to something so generic.
    Hi Pastures,

I have a friend who needs a web site for his business and probably gets seriously stitched up by the traditional "mating elephants" way of doing things:

.....you cut out all the time delays and specification writing and testing and costs.

Is the free plug in software fairly secure? It would not look good if someone hijacked a web site?

    John
As secure as most things. There are so many people all over the code, checking its security that updates are easily available and you get a notice in your Wordpress that says "update available" - and for most hosts you just make sure you have a backup (see my comment about setting up wp backup, which just does it daily for you) and press the button ... takes about 30 seconds.

How secure is a one off application, written by god knows who, who might or might not be available if you get a problem. So many web designers/coders are doing one offs, then they get "a proper job". I'd rather put my money with Wordpress to be honest.

Thousands of people able to fix a problem, or one bloke to try to track down from a phone number you found on an invoice in 3 years' time when he's disappeared and moved house 3 times?

LOL/via text. Probably no chance. I bought my old phone 2nd hand in 2005.

I've never received a picture by text, ever, so no idea what that's all about, or how it'd work (or not). But, I have no posh screen on my phone.

Ok, well...........you might have to bake the cake yourself for pics :D Sheesh. I'll have a look in the electrics boxes. The hilarious thing is my dad bought fancy-pants camera recently and I asked him to take some photos for me this week and he ....can't turn it on. Technophobia runs in my family :rotfl:

I now need to buy a cameraphone. One with the best camera I can buy. This is because you can "snap" with a cameraphone and get it online easily/quickly.... I need lots of quick snaps for my writing.... and if I carry a camera about I have to stop, get the bag undone, get the camera out without dropping it, take the lens cap off, hold the bag, untwist the camera strap, choose some settings, check it all, line up a photo, snap, then put the cap back on, turn it off, get the back out again, get the camera into the bag again, get the bag done up, put the camera bag over my head again .... and you can't easily do that if you're in a busy space, with other people, trying to be discrete, trying not to look like a mad n0b that's taking photos of odd things.

Then, back at home, you have to get the camera out of the bag again, find the lead, boot up the PC, plug in the lead, remember how to transfer the files over, wait, disconnect it all, put the camera away again ...

Lorra palava for some quick illustrative snaps.

I've seen a couple of cameraphones, never used one. I don't really know how they work.... I don't have a phone contract, so I'd need to find out how it all works on that side of things too.

For my phone I pay a monthly £8 or so for the "line rental", then 8p/minute if I make a call and 8p/text if I send one. Usually my bill for using it's under 20p/month.

If your not texting pictures its a software thingy rather than call/text cost. Can't use that on mine either, in fact my computer hated it and its made my desktop messy and is still unfathomable.

We were going PAYG but the phone company did a great deal which I think we'd find very hard to beat PAYG.

They are easy. Do you have Bluetooth on the laptop? I just bluetooth my photos from the phones to the laptop.

Thank you so much for the website advice! I'm going to get going on it tonight.
