I thought Longleat was brilliant. The fact that you can go back and do the bits you didnt get round to the first time is excellent if you are staying nearby as we were. Real value for money.

The whole estate is a great place for walking. We used to go up there in the evenings and watch the lions for free.

My parents liked it so much, I scattered their ashes on the hillside at Heaven's Gate on January 1st 2005.

That's five season tickets each they owe for now....:rotfl:

Aww, that's lovely - how did you get free access? Is there a right of way or something like there is through Leeds Castle ;)?

Yes, you can park and walk into the estate. There are dozens of footpaths. That's free to anyone; I was just joking about the tickets!

The lions would sit on a particular bank in the evening to catch the last of the sun, and locals knew that. :)

Edit: I've just remembered we chose January 1st at sunset as the time to scatter the ashes because it seemed appropriate. It was getting chilly when we arrived, so we expected to be alone, but to our horror there was a wedding party of about 30 people there, taking photos.

We trundled off and returned half an hour or so later when it was almost dark, as we didn't think what we had planned would have created the right atmosphere for the others! :o

Anyone any the wiser regarding cucumber picking? Should I be picking now, or waiting...

    Help!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Oh, sorry! Yes, it won't hurt to pick one, to see if they are ready. I'd imagine they would be, as I've had them since June.

They're like courgettes really; the more you take the more they can give. :)

I'm more worried about my winter squash. The books say harvest in the autumn when the plants die down, but mine are the size of footballs, now! I am taking a few anyway....:o

Pick one now, and try it.

Had an excellent day down at the beach today, I even went in the water!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Earlier on this page I gave you funny, now its time for downright scary. In terms of anonymity on the web that is:

I was in one of those kinds of relationships at the time.
