After university, I knew that whatever I would spend 5+ days a week doing for 40 years, I'd have to get more out of it than financial recompense once a week/month. I also became aware that I'd be not great as something practical. What I can do though is work with people. I never decided on a career path. s h i t happens. I just keep going...
I took a pay cut to come into the current job because I was made redundant from a better paid (but more stressful) job. I have no regrets. I can get by on my income. I have less stress. I have a lot more free time, know what time I'll finish work every day, have shorter travel, therefore more time with those I love or for hobbies. I like the people I work with (by that I mean more the clients than colleagues). In general terms, though I'm happy with what I earn, I think it is low paid. But hey, I get by, & I can afford to visit friends, go see bands etc.lostinrates wrote: »No nuts, no booze, no dough...are you any fun?;)

I have dough. I am what I call very "careful" with the spending though. (Other people say I'm tight as a ducks rear end). Have to be though, seeing as I am the only earner in the house, & I'm the main carer to 2 adults. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

You should work hard for what you have then and not complain about it.0 -
