We've ordered ours as well, now just need the weather to warm the soil up so I can stop scattering blue pellets.
hope you're feeling better soon and mortgage etc are sorted out.
I feel MUCH better. So after feeling stupid for ''breaking'' yesterday I now feel a bit stupid for worrying so much about it.:o
Mortgage...bloddy nightmare. But things are really interesting...frustrating on the one hand, but very positive on the other. che sera sera...:D

Nematodes aren't...um...insecty, are they?
So one can still eat the stuff?
How microscopic are they? What exactly are they, biologically?
I mean, I know the theory of how they work, but don't want to eat v tiny things I can't see any more than big ones I can see.
Does that make sense?0 -

Where a door closes, a window opens
Am sure you'll find a way.
Is it wrong that I'm so annoyed that Labour's manifesto includes the suggestion that all migrants will now have to take an English test? Unbelievable.0 -

Annoyed at the suggestion? I think people should make effort to gain the language, bth for the country they come to and importantly for them selves...access to stuff both functional and entertainment. It will be pretty embarrassing if many results are better than our own schools can produce though.0 -
Why does that annoy you?
It's standard practice in lots of other countries, and would surely help them to settle/work here?
Because it will be applied adhoc to all migrants.
Obviously, having spent the last 10 years living here and now teaching English students attempting to do Biology, I find it rather insulting. In fact, I'm certain some of my students could do with trying to do the same test.
I'd be less annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that the primary school that I volunteer in, you can get students moving to secondary school barely able to write and spell. If the government wants to ensure all migrants speak English, perhaps they can start with educating the entire population.0 -
I think you'll find they do.
The Skills For Life programme is aimed at both migrants and 'native' Brits, and covers functional literacy and ESOL.0 -

Oh right, fair enoughI would say my non-Brit friends from almost everywhere are better at grammar etc..and phrasal verbs/idioms are always fun conversations around a table with more than one mother tongue. Odd things really frustrate me. DH always says ''afterwards'' instead of ''later''.:o
