Thanks guys, hopefully one of the board guides will merge the threads.
I brought this milk on saturday and opened it monday as I got some from sainsburys last week and that lasted fine! So it has been open 4 days today, but surely that isn't too long? I haven't had this problem other than in the last few months and only with asda milk...very strange. It also happens with the milk I buy to take to work, also from asda, so its not my fridge0 -

Defnitely sounds like a storage problem on their part - being left out of fridges waiting to be stacked etc. Sod emails, I'd write a letter to the manager of that store. And most importantly, vote with your wallet and go to elsewhere next time!0 -
We buy 6pt bottle of milk when I do the fortnightly online shop. I save up my empty 2 pint bottles. When I get the 6pt I fill the 2 pint bottles and put them into the freezer. I just leave a large jug of milk out to use and defrost the milk as I need it.A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist :j0

I too found my milk going off last summer. since then i only buy cravendale milk. It is a little more expensive but saves money cos it all gets used!
You could also use powdered milk in Tea and coffee and buy less milk so that you just have enough for cereals etc.
I used to keep a carton of long life "just in case" It is alot cheaper and I personally dont mind it in tea/coffee. I guess that is a matter of taste though!0
