    Hi All

Managed to stick to the plan last week except Wed as I went to fetch my new car and didn't have time to do a roast so we had a cheap and cheerful sizzling steak meal out!!! mmmm!!!!!

    This week we are having/had:

    Thurs: Fridgeraiders Pasta & Sauce
Fri: Eat Out - OH's best man down from Wales for one night only
Sat: Eat Out - OH paying - my Birthday Meal!!!
    Sun: Eat at OH's parents
Mon: Turkey Stir Fry & Noodles
Tues: Smoked Haddock and Leek Rissotto - MY NEW RECIPE OF THE WEEK
Wed: Roast Chicken with all the trimmings

Quite an easy week this week.

Note re Thai Salmon Noodles last Sat - only used 2 tsp of red curry paste and it was VERY HOT - could be my paste - will use 1 tsp only next time.

    Have a good week all.

    A

    x

PS Realise I don't put anything about breakfast or Lunch etc...

OH doesn't have breakfast, but I have either special flakes with mixed dried fruit, or porriage with the same and/or banana.

Lunches are HM Sandwiches or Wraps, tins of soup, Hummous on toast. Treat myself to a Subway or bought Jacket Pot once a week - budget £2 max.

OOh just to say that poached salmon with peas and chorizo looks good, and I have loads of chorizo that I need to use up, that might be wednesday's dinner :D

Update for you - was ok and fairly simple (but then I didn't follow the recipe!:o)

I put the liquids and salmon in a pan - left for 10 mins or so - chucked in the peas - left for another 5 - drained off liquid - and bunged in chorizo for a couple of mins! (I didn't have white peppercorns, dry sherry or fresh dill - so they were omitted! :rotfl:)

That's about the closest I get to following a recipe:cool:

    Hope that helps someone!

There is a tiny glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. I did some ironing today: first time since New Year. It was also the first day since New Year when I did no work-work. Our meal planning challenge is that DD, aged 8, eats fish but not meat, and DS, aged 10, prefers to avoid veges except in hidden form (he likes Cauldron mushroom burgers, for example, but would never eat a mushroom knowingly).

Saturday: caramelised onion & cheddar quiche, broccoli with lemon crumbs
Sunday: roast chicken, roast kumara (sweet potato), roast potato, asparagus, white wine gravy [a veg/bean loaf for DD and possibly DS who finds meat difficult unless it's mince)
Monday: rice with chicken, chorizo, red peppers & peas; leftovers for DD & DS
Tuesday: pasta carbonara without meat, sliced gammon on the side for meateaters (I have some in the freezer)
Wednesday: this is OH's cooking day, I think he will probably do meatballs and spaghetti (meatballs cooked separately, because of DD) but I can't be sure and I'm not allowed to hassle
Thursday: vegetable and lentil soup with cheese scones
Friday: chicken curry & rice for grownups (using the rest of Sunday's chicken which will be in freezer), fish fingers & chips for children
    Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600
    Overpayments to date: £3000
    June grocery challenge: 400/600

A little late in posting as i seem to have 'lost' 3 weeks worth of meal plans - methinks one of the kids werent too happy on regimented meals haha. Anyways here we go again.

Sunday - Roast beef, roast spuds, cauliflower cheese and veggies.

Monday - Chicken casserole in sc

Tuesday - oh and i - liver and onions in sc kids fish pie as they didnt get it last week due to me having tonsilitis and oh cooking.

    Wednesday - Arabian Lamb mince.

Thursday - Savoury mince cobbler - rolled over from last week for same reasons as tues.

Friday - egg, chips and beans.

Saturday - Tuna pasta bake with garlic bread and side salad.

Baking for the week ahead today has seen carrot cake, choc fruit and nut crunch and a sticky ginger cake so far. Possibly a few muffins in the week for kids to take to school.
